I attended TCU, home of the Alpha chapter, from 1998-2002 and was a member of Eta Iota Sigma all four years. I served as a New Member Assistant, Worship Chair, New Member Educator on the Executive Board and a Faith Circle/Bible Study Leader. I am blessed to be a founding member of the National Board and to still be involved in this incredible organization. I am married to Evan Wilson, my best friend and favorite worship leader in the world. I work for Expedia, Inc as an Analyst and love my job. Evan and I love to travel, drink Starbucks, read Brian McLaren and watch/quote "The Office".
I am continually excited about what the Lord has done and is doing through HIS. I am honored to currently be serving as President of the National Board after serving as Vice President for the past 5 years. This is a great organization in which to grow, develop strong friendships and be a light for Christ on your college campus. "For in Him we live and move and have our being!" Acts 17:28

God gave me the privilege of founding the SMU chapter of Eta Iota Sigma in the fall of 1999. I believe bringing Eta Iota Sigma to the campus of SMU was the supreme purpose of my journey at University. Since its humble beginnings of Bible study in Shuttles Hall, I have served the sorority as President, VP of Service, and Faith Circle Leader. I consider it such an honor to be serving Eta Iota Sigma on the National Board (since 2005), because I believe so fully in the purpose of this sisterhood, through which I have seen women's lives be filled with HIS light.
After working for The Salvation Army as the Director of Youth Programming, and then Teaching ESOL (English to Speakers of Other Languages) for three years in the Texas public school system, I now enjoy mothering my two children full-time (Emmanuel James (12/05) & Eden Elisabeth (9/07)). I have been married to Benjamin Lyda, my "high school sweetheart," since March 2002. On Sundays, I meet God at St. Maximus Orthodox Church in Denton, TX. For pure pleasure, I enjoy making scrumptious bread in my amazing bread maker, drinking home-made smoothies, creative writing, walking, and world-travelling with my adventurous family! My goal in life is summed up in this beautiful verse, "As for me, I will see Your face in righteousness; I shall be satisfied when I awake in Your likeness." (Psalm 17:15)

Initially I got involved with Eta Iota Sigma at TCU from 1997 to 2001, where GOD gave me opportunities to serve as Outreach Chair, Prayer Chair, New Member Assistant and New Member Educator on the Executive Board. Since 2002 I have been blessed by being able to serve as a founding member of the National Board. I am currently back at TCU pursuing a MBA and Doctorate in Educational Leadership simultaneously, after spending four years counseling and teaching in Fort Worth. It is my desire to move into an administrative position at an elementary school once my degrees and dissertation are finished, which will hopefully be in three years. Deer Creek Community Fellowship is the church that I attend and where GOD has called me into service as the Women's

I attended SMU from 1998-2002 and graduated with a BA in Spanish as well as my teacher certification. In 2007 I graduated with a Masters in School Counseling from Texas A&M University in Commerce. I taught high school Spanish for 3 years and was a high school counselor for 2 years. I currently work part-time as an elementary school counselor so that I can spend more time at home with my son Judah. I have been married to my high school sweetheart Stevie since November of 2004 and we are joyfully expecting another addition to our family in the summer of 2008. My family and I attend St. Anthony Catholic Church in Wylie.
While at SMU I had the privilege of being able to serve HIS Exec as the secretary my junior and senior years, during the formative years of the sorority. I am so excited to currently serve on HIS National Board as the secretary (since 2007) and to have the opportunity to be a part of the growth and development of Eta Iota Sigma. God blessed me through HIS in innumerable ways while at SMU and now I look forward to giving back! |
